Babolat's DNA has always been to analyse changes in the game and to provide the best solutions to tennis players' needs in order to buck trends and create new ones. In the 90s, tennis was dominated by control-oriented rackets with small heads and square frames, but Babolat created the Pure Drive in 1994. A tennis racket with a 645cm² headsize and an elliptical section to generate power and change the rules of the game.

4 years later, Carlos Moya won his 1st Grand Slam on clay with the now iconic Pure Drive. It was the first of many successes for this tennis racket at both professional and amateur level.
